Product Description

Detailed information about the product features and specifications

Galmet buffer tank with one spiral coil is a versatile, efficient solution for storing thermal energy and chilled capacity. It is designed to work with multiple heat sources—such as pellet, gas, oil boilers or solar systems—and with different heat emitters (underfloor heating, radiators). The built-in coil enables independent heat exchange between circuits, increasing system flexibility and performance.

Using a buffer tank helps stabilize temperature in the installation and reduces the cycling of the heat source. This translates into energy savings, higher comfort, and longer equipment life. The tank can also be used in chilled-water systems, acting as a cold-storage reservoir to stabilize operation and improve efficiency.

Design & functions

The tank is made of black carbon steel without enamel coating, suitable for operation with boiler water and glycol solutions.

A spiral coil (heat exchanger) located at the bottom enables heat transfer between independent circuits (e.g., solar collectors → c.h. system). Depending on tank size (200–2000 l), the coil surface ranges from 1.4 to 4.5 m², and its volume from 9.8 to 31.5 l, ensuring fast, even charging.

All connection nozzles (6/4") and temperature-sensor sleeves (1/2") are placed on one side of the unit to simplify installation, save space in the plant room, and allow easy future expansion.

Each buffer is factory-prepared with additional ports for a GE electric heating kit. The immersion heater can range from 2 to 12 kW, depending on tank size.

Insulation & aesthetics

High-quality thermal insulation retains heat for longer and reduces energy losses. Available options:

  • 200–500: fixed polyurethane-foam insulation + elegant skai cladding,
  • 800–2000: removable insulation + elegant skai cladding.

Compatibility

The one-coil buffer tank is compatible with a wide range of Galmet and third‑party equipment:

  • Air and ground-source heat pumps by Galmet (e.g., Airmax³, Airmax², Maxima, Prima), with tanks selected to match pump output,
  • pellet, gas, oil, electric, and solid‑fuel boilers,
  • solar thermal systems with flat-plate or evacuated‑tube collectors,
  • domestic hot-water cylinders, buffers, weather compensators, and Sinum systems,
  • chilled‑water (cooling) systems in buildings (fixed PU insulation models: 200–500).

Summary

The Galmet buffer tank with one spiral coil is a reliable and functional choice for modern heating systems—delivering higher energy efficiency, greater system autonomy, and safe operation. Capacities from 200 to 2000 liters allow precise matching to each project.
